Volunteer/Community Service Opportunities

All KUSD students are required to complete 10 hours of documented community service in order to earn their diploma.  Please contact Mrs. Gorman if you have questions.

Volunteer Hours Through Bell Ringing The Red Kettle is the symbol of giving that supplements much of the necessary financial resources that support Salvation Army Programming. In Kenosha (since 1890) the Salvation Army has provided food, utility, housing, and emergency disaster relief to this community. Over that time, we have also developed great programs to provide hope to those in need including the Toy Shop, Pathway of Hope, and many other programs. The Red Kettle Campaign isn’t just a fundraiser, it is a distinctive and respective effort of the community, by the community, and for the community. For some time, the Salvation Army has partnered up with churches, local organizations and schools to provide valuable volunteer opportunities to participate and spread Christmas cheer while manning a kettle. In 2017, we would be honored to once again invite groups including Kenosha Unified School District to partner up with the Salvation Army to spread Christmas cheer through the Red Kettle campaign. We are willing to provide reporting if the District wishes to include that as a community/volunteer service hour project. Interested participants and groups can visit: for more information.
