eSchool Notes

Important Messages: Welcome back to returning students and parents, and welcome also to our new students. The eSchool is looking to continue to provide a quality education and improve our instructional offerings and support. One of our major changes is the new course management system, BrainHoney, that will be used for all courses. As with any new technology, we have trained our staff and will be providing support to our students/ parents regarding navigation and usage. Please do not hesitate to contact your teacher or our office if you are having any difficulties.

Also, please keep in mind that most communication requests to instructors are answered on the same day, but sometimes there are circumstances that may slightly delay their response. Wisconsin law provides a requirement that any request be answered by the end of the next school day from the date of the request. If you do not have an answer by this deadline, please contact your instructor by phone or call our office to resolve the issue. For example, the KUSD email filtering system may be blocking an email without our immediate knowledge.

The Kenosha eSchool has moved! Our new location is 6121 Green Bay Rd. Suite #100. All eSchool phone/ fax numbers are operational.

Any parents interested in serving on the eSchool Governance Board can call the eSchool office at 359-7715. Space is currently available, and the time commitment is usually one meeting a month.

All full time eSchool students must have a current school ID for this school year. This should be present with them while in the eSchool office, as well as while out in the community during normal school hours. We now have our own ID machine, and will be able to provide each full time student with their first ID at no charge. If you lose your ID, you will need to pay for a replacement for a small district established charge. Full Time students can pick up their new ID usually any afternoon.

The College and University Admission Guidance web site is an on-line college admission counseling program that helps parents and students navigate through the college search, college admissions, and financial aid process. Please visit them at http://mycollegecalendar.org/.

It is recommended that Juniors take the ACT test in April or June of their junior year. Seniors should take the test in the fall or winter of their senior year if they haven’t already or if they want to retake the exam. The cost of the ACT is $32.00, the ACT plus the writing portion is $47.00. Students should register for the ACT on-line at www.actstudent.org.
